Win xp pro OEM...?

My Win xp pro oem cd has gotten scratched really bad. When i go to install on another pc, it has problems reading the data.I even tried to burn it with nero but it gets aborted because of unreadable data. Is there a way to recover the data from a cd thats been scratched? I heard of the machine that eliminate scratches from video games but will it work on data disc? Because i would hate to spend another 100 bucks on another oem disk. Thanks to all in advance that took the time to answer my question.
