placenta...protects baby and gives it a HOME until it is born. cord is used to provide the baby with nutrients and elements needed for proper growth and maturity. Gest Diabetes is when you have too much insulin in your body but its caused by JUSt being preg. It will go away after baby is born (usually) preg hypertension..same thing as above only difference is that's blood pressure and now midwives are used instead of drs. They have experience in delivery babies. They are NOT however BABY DOCTORS! They are only there to help with the delivery of the baby.
