Desperate for a good high school chemistry text!?

A slew of college texts are supposed to be brilliant, but there are no high school texts that are better than mediocre! I'm a 9th grader looking for something excellent - but it is very hard to find a good book. Does anyone know of any special chem books for the high schooler?
