WHY DID GANDHIJI SUPPORT THE KHILAFAT MOVEMENT? WAS THIS HIS REWARD?

The more i read about Gandhi, the more i despise him. He was a man in love with his own image of "Mahatma" and wanted others to die to maintain it. A man's ego can make him do strange things. A huge ego can produce both kinds of people like Muhammad and Gandhi. Both caused millions to die directly or indirectly.
